At this time of year I tend to sit back and reflect on what we have experienced, achieved and contributed both professionally and personally in the last year. As the new year approaches it’s also time to plan for the new year ahead.

It’s been a busy year for us at Cadman Homes with growth across both sales and lettings, and as we become more established in the area we are seeing many more new clients, as well as returning clients and their friends and family that have been recommended to us. To thank those people that are kind enough to refer to us we always give a gift, as referrals now account for around 30% of our business.

We have seen Tamara McLaren continue her learning and improvement as she blossoms into a very competent Property Sales Negotiator and we are looking forward to her taking on more responsibilities in the new year. Thank you Tamara for all your hard work this year.

Personally I have had a busy year both in the office and outside of it. Our charity – “Legs4Africa” continues to grow and provide vitally needed prosthetics, recycled from the NHS, to the poorest people in Africa. It was my first year as a member of the committee that organises the Round Table fireworks event which raised thousands of pounds for local causes and entertained around 5,000 local people.

“Love Rugby Town” hosted a series of successful “First Thursdays” events which we organised in the hope that the people of Rugby would keep Rugby “alive after 5” on the first Thursday of every month and enjoy street food, live music and late night shopping. There were highs and lows, with bad weather wiping some of the events out and the natural conclusion coming when the Rugby Fan Zone arrived.

The Fan Zone was a great success in terms of bringing people together and celebrating the game that the town gave birth to. However some local businesses reported that they lost trade due to the onsite catering and bar. There is never a right or wrong answer in these situations, but personally I am thankful at least for the improvements to the town centre and car parks, and the fact that Rugby saw such a large amount of international tourism as a direct result of the world cup. Even if England didn’t get through the pool stages.

So with all the goals and targets set for the year (not resolutions as they are just “intentions”), it’s time to talk about our new project for 2016.
“Character”, by Cadman Homes is a unique new service for sellers of the more interesting or unusual properties. You benefit form a 24/7 concierge service, we’ll arrange every part of your move if you want, from removals to your utility bills, and you get a fantastic marketing package for your property as well. We’ve undertaken some comparisons with other companies that deal with the “mid to upper” market as it’s called in the trade and I can say that the value and service levels that we are offering are unsurpassed.

So we march into 2016 ready to carry on offering the service and value that has helped us grow over the last 7 years. Here’s to a merry Christmas and a prosperous and enjoyable 2016 to all of our customers, followers, fans and blog readers!

And remember as Eleanor Roosevelt said;

“People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built”.
