PM announces post-lockdown tiers for England. Yesterday, Boris Johnson told the House of Commons that the three-tiered regional measures will return from the 2nd of December.

He added that each tier will be toughened, but gyms and non-essential shops in all parts of England will be allowed to reopen. In a surprise announcement, the PM confirmed that spectators will be allowed to return to sporting events.
A maximum of 4,000 will be allowed into stadiums in the lowest-risk area, while up to 2,000 fans will be allowed in tier two areas. However, in tier three, no spectators will be allowed.

The official announcement will be spread over the next couple of days, and we will not find out which tier individual areas are in until Thursday. Likewise, we are till waiting on confirmation on any special measures for Christmas.
We wait to see what Tier Rugby and Lutterworth will be in, but the independent shops and businesses will continue to be pragmatic, proactive and positive. Unlike many large chains, the local businesses of Rugby and Lutterworth have really taken the COVID 19 threat seriously and have moved heaven and earth to be compliant whilst retaining the “shop local” experience.
Well done to all the pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and services that have risen above the challenges that 2020 has thrown at us. Here’s to 2021!
